# Identity Verification

> How to complete identity verification on Sendovex and what it unlocks.

Identity verification is a one-time process. Once approved, you never have to do it again.

## Why it is required

Trades of **\$1,000 or more** require identity verification. Unverified accounts can only trade below that threshold. Merchants who complete verification also receive a verified badge on their listings, which buyers can see.

## How to start

1. Tap **Account** at the bottom of the app.
2. Under the **Verification** section, tap **Identity Verification**.
3. Tap **Start Verification**.
4. The verification flow opens inside the app. Follow the steps to scan your ID and complete a liveness check.

The process takes about 3 minutes.

## What you need

* A valid government-issued ID (national ID, passport, or driver's license)
* A working front-facing camera for the liveness check
* Good lighting

## What the statuses mean

| Status                   | What it means                     | What to do              |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------- | ----------------------- |
| One-Time Identity Check  | You have not started yet          | Tap Start Verification  |
| Verification In Progress | Your submission is being reviewed | Wait for a notification |
| Verification Declined    | The submission did not pass       | Tap Try Again           |
| You're verified          | Approved                          | Nothing, you're done    |

## After approval

* Trades of \$1,000 or more are now available to you.
* You have one opportunity to correct your name immediately after approval. Tap **Edit Account** at the top of the Account screen and update it before that window closes. Once you save that correction, the name is permanently locked.
* If you are a merchant, a verified badge appears on your listings.

## If your verification was declined

Common reasons:

* ID photo was blurry or had glare
* Selfie did not match the ID photo
* ID is expired

Tap **Try Again** from the Identity Verification screen. Use clear photos in good lighting and ensure the name you entered at signup matches your ID.
